It is December and media outlets everywhere are putting out year-end reviews and/or look aheads to next year. Look aheads are almost always a complete stab in the dark. Guess what? I did one anyway.

I published an article on Nasdaq - “What Investors should know about hiring in 2023”. While none of us know what is going to happen next year, it is sort of fun to guess.

I do have a bit of history to point towards. Having been in recruiting through multiple recessions, I’ve seen what has happened in the past. That includes 20 years ago (the dot com crash), the Great Recession (2008-2009), and 2020 (Covid). And we’ve definitely seen a slowdown over the past 4-6 months. Hiring has slowed.  Layoffs are in the news. But unemployment is still near an all-time low. So what does it all mean?
