Happy Super Bowl week to all of those who celebrate. Whether you are watching for the game, the betting, the commercials, or to see how many times they show Taylor Swift - there is a little something for everyone this year.
Are you one of the 115,000,000 not watching the Super Bowl? Then let’s talk about the January jobs report. In case you didn’t see, it was a blowout number for January. The most jobs added since last January.
Plus, there were upward revisions from November and December. But there are layoffs too. January saw the highest number since Q1 of 2023.
What does it all mean? I don’t have a clue. My (uneducated) opinion is that there is a lot going on right now.
There still aren’t enough people in the workforce (lack of population growth + boomers exiting).
Higher for longer interest rates are starting to take their toll on some companies.
And in case you haven’t heard, it is an election year. So I’m sure that will calm everything down.
Tangent over. But as we’ve talked about for a while, hiring is up. If you are looking for a new job, you’ll want to nail the interview. Need help? We’ve got a few videos that’ll do just that.
